Using Google Docs or Box.net to Link to Document

Documents (Word, Excel...) cannot be uploaded to your blog so you will need to use Google Docs or a web based service like box.net.

Google Docs:

Login to Google Docs using your gmail or google user name and password, or create a new google account. You can create a google account without having a gmail account. Create a document using Google Docs or upload a Word or Excel document that you have created and saved on your computer as a 97-2003 document. (Google Docs is not yet compatible with Office 2007) .

After saving your document, click on the Publish tab that is in the top right corner of the screen. If you choose the option "Publish to the Web" you will have a url link to your file. You can also "Publish to your Blog" by providing the site information for your blog.

Box.net:

Box.net is a free web based service which enables you to upload files to their server. They will then provide a link (url) that you can add to your blog.

Here is how it works:
1. Go to box.net and create an account or log in
2. Click on "Upload Files"
3. Click on "Add Files"
4. Find desired file on your computer and click on Open
5. Click on "Upload"
6. Click on small arrow in top right corner of the icon for your file
7. Click on Add to Public
8. Click on small arrow in top right corner of the icon for your file again
9. Click on Get Web Link and add URL to your blog
